PROJECTS COMING THROUGH SLAUGHTER: Inspired by the book by Canadian author, Michael Ondaatje, Coming Through Slaughter is a 10-movement original work for Jazz Orchestra. The book is a fictitious portrayal of the life and legend of Buddy Bolden, early New Orleans jazz cornet player. A recording of the Dave Lisik Orchestra will be released in 2009. MARVIN STAMM: A collection of 24 Marvin Stamm solos transcribed by Dave and edited by Amy Rempel is now complete. Tunes with solos include: Bop Boy, Loverman, But Beautiful, But Not For Me, Reunion, Influence, Old Ballad, The Very Thought of You, My Funny Valentine, Svensson, Waltz for Mia, Smilin' Eyes, and My Ship.
